Vaginal Steaming for Trauma and Blockages

In addition to its physical effects, vaginal steaming can be a gentle form of healing, acceptance, and softening on an emotional, energetic, and mental level.

Because vaginal steaming is often used postpartum or for physical concerns, its potential impact on trauma and energetic blockages is not always widely recognized. Yet trauma and blockages related to sexuality, trust, safety, and protection are often held energetically in the pelvis, the reproductive organs, and the first and second chakras.


Chakras are energy centers within the body, each with its own qualities and strengths.

The first chakra, also known as the root chakra, is connected to safety and grounding. It is located in the pelvic area, between the anus and the genitals. When this chakra is balanced, you feel safe within yourself and your environment, grounded and stable. When out of balance, feelings of fear, restlessness, insecurity, and difficulty setting boundaries may arise.


The second chakra, the sacral chakra, is located near the sacrum and relates to emotions, sexuality, creativity, and the ability to experience pleasure. When balanced, emotions can flow freely and creativity and joy are present. When blocked, emotions may be suppressed or overwhelming, accompanied by guilt, fear of pleasure, or unresolved experiences from past relationships or sexual trauma that can stagnate your energy.

Through many years of working as a massage and energy practitioner, I have observed that many women carry trauma and blockages in the lower chakras. Vaginal steaming and abdominal massage can support the release of tension, help soften blockages, and encourage energy to flow to the areas that need it most.


During vaginal steaming, loving and nurturing energy is directed toward the first and second chakras. The warmth of the steam and the supportive herbs gently nourish and relax the vagina, womb, and pelvic floor, helping you reconnect with your feminine strength and inner wisdom. This compassionate approach invites softness, self-kindness, and acceptance toward stored trauma and blockages.

Steaming is therefore a gentle way to work with trauma, fears, and energetic stagnation connected to the pelvis, womb, and vagina.


After steaming, it is important to rest for at least 20 minutes—lying down, closing your eyes, and following your breath. Allow the effects of the steam and herbs to integrate. A lavender eye pillow can be a beautiful addition during this rest period.

When you receive a steaming treatment with me, the session is followed by a womb and pelvic massage combined with Reiki. Abdominal massage is a powerful and supportive complement to vaginal steaming.
